Peter Carbone, vice president of Renesas’ Synergy IoT Platform Business Division, said: “With the addition of these three MCU groups, the Synergy Platform now covers the entire selection range of memory and package sizes our customers request and we provide the ability to scale up and down between them, which includes software and tools to reduce redesign efforts.”
According to Renesas, developers with leaner requirements can select devices from the S3A3 and S3A6 groups, allowing them to choose devices with 256 or 512kybte of flash, rather than the 1Mbyte of flash offered by the S3A7 group. Meanwhile, the S128 group complements the S124 range, suiting ultra-low power applications that require memories of up to 256kbyte or additional analogue signal conditioning.
There are 20 devices in the S128, S3A6 and S3A3 groups and these will be available in June 2017.
