Rochester buys National’s Space-level inventory

Rochester Electronics has purchased National Semiconductor's Space-level Logic inventory. The agreement included all residual finished goods and wafers.

"Our mission has always focused on providing a continuing supply of quality, authorised end of life parts to our customers," said Curt Gerrish, Rochester Electronics' founder and ceo. "National Semiconductor has trusted us with these critical long term devices, not just because we are experienced in handling, storing and manufacturing such complex parts, but because we can also service these customers now and well into the future." The agreement covers nearly 300 specific part numbers and includes the 1003XX ECL, 54LS, 54F, 54AC, 54ACT, and 54ACTQ microcircuit families. Meanwhile, Rochester Electronics has a current wafer fabrication contract with Fairchild and will be building additional Space-level wafers in order to provide long-term support for Space-level and Rad Hard Logic products.
