Farnell announces strategic partnership with Rochester Electronics

Farnell has announced a new strategic partnership with Rochester Electronics, the world’s largest continuous source of semiconductors.

Rochester Electronics is authorised by more than 70 leading semiconductor manufacturers worldwide and as an original manufacturer stocking distributor, holds an extensive component range comprises more than 200,000 part numbers, including both active and end-of-life semiconductors.

According to Farnell the partnership will provide its customers with immediate access to Rochester’s in-stock factory-direct offering of more than 15 billion semiconductor devices. Additionally, Rochester is licensed to manufacture semiconductor devices no longer produced by the original component manufacturers.

Commenting on the agreement Farnell, Product Category Director - Semiconductors, Jose Lok said, “The rapid pace of change in the electronics industry has meant that a significant number of customers have faced obsolescence challenges.

Rochester has manufactured more than 20,000 device types. With over 12 billion die in stock, it has the capability to manufacture over 70,000 device types, ensuring an ongoing source of supply for customers with extended lifecycle needs.
