Siemens picks ADI part for ‘smart’ meter
Siemens Energy Sector has selected Analog Devices' Blackfin BF531 processor for use in a range of Automated Metering and Information Systems (AMIS).

"It is Analog Devices' Blackfin that enables us to offer sophisticated measurement and communication at the meter level, enabling a true system wide energy management tool."
According to Analog Devices, AMIS delivers dynamic 'demand response' energy usage communication between the consumer and the energy provider, supporting 'whole grid' energy management.
