Site gets railway certification
TT electronics integrated manufacturing services has announced that its Rogerstone plant has become the UK's first manufacturing facility to be awarded the International Railway Industry Standard IRIS Revision 02 certification. "We are pleased to be the first company in the UK to receive the certification", said site managing director Gary Allen. "The 02 version of the standard represents the most stringent requirements on quality standards in the global rail transportation industry."
IRIS was created by the Association of the European Railway Industries to implement a global system with uniform language, uniform assessment guidelines and mutual acceptance of audits for the evaluation of companies supplying to the railway industry to create a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain.
John Molloy, divisional chief executive, added: "By winning this latest version of the IRIS standard, we are confident that we will be able to further strengthen our international presence in the rail manufacturing industry."
