Steatite wins MoD battery contract
Steatite has secured an order worth more than £100,000 to supply Electrochem size 2/5C high rate lithium batteries to the Ministry Of Defence.
The cells, which are housed in stainless steel containers, use spiral wound technology and hermetic glass to metal sealing to support operating temperatures ranging from -20 to 93°C.
Steatite's managing director John Lavery said: "This is a very significant and important contract for us to win. It underlines the core capabilities of Steatite that enable us to provide first class technical application support backed by an industry leading product range for designs destined for use in the most challenging operating environments."
