Lithium sulphur technology gets application boost

The agreement combines Oxis' cell technology expertise with Steatite's battery pack design and assembly skills. The systems will be developed for applications in the oceanographic, defence and energy industries, including unmanned vehicles and solar battery storage systems. Oxis' ceo Huw Hampson-Jones said: "The agreement we have reached with Steatite allows us to combine our strengths in a way that will intensify the further development of lithium sulphur cells. [Steatite's] expertise in oil and gas, transportation and security will allow us to deploy our lithium sulphur cell technology into sectors where safety, lightweight systems and reliable energy performance are key requirements for their customers."
