Touch screen tickets
Touchscreen specialist, Protouch has rolled out its Xen X5 and X4 kiosks into five sites of Cineworld, the 2nd largest multiplex cinema chain in the UK.
The kiosks have been installed as part of a programme for visitors who wish to join a membership scheme allowing them to watch unlimited movies.
Visitors who choose to sign up to the membership programme enter their details into the kiosk. An A4 receipt is then printed with the user's photo and can be used for identification purposes until the membership card has been posted. This brings down ticket purchase handling and paper costs.
Cineworld now plans to install the X5 kiosks into all its cinemas.
Cineworld's marketing coordinator, John Anderson, said: "The Unlimetd programme is a large and important part of Cineworld's business and distinguishes them from every other cinema company in the UK and Protouch's X5 kiosk is helping advance the programme."
