TrueTouch solution wins spot in new Tesla electric sedan
Tesla Motors has selected Cypress Semiconductor's TrueTouch automotive touchscreen solution for the infotainment system in its new Model S electric sedan.
The 17in touchscreen is claimed to be the largest in a production vehicle to date, and the first to integrate all functional controls.
"Tesla's Model S is a truly revolutionary vehicle, and we're excited to have our automotive TrueTouch solution power the centrepiece of its interior," said Hassane El-Khoury, executive vp of Cypress' programmable systems division. "The touchscreen demonstrates TrueTouch's flexibility in creating the world's first fully integrated and largest infotainment system touchscreen, while highlighting its best in class user experience."
Craig Carlson, vp of software and electrical integration at Tesla, went on to praise the TrueTouch for its flexible, reliable and durable architecture. "TrueTouch has delivered great accuracy, speed and linearity," he commented.
