Vector analyser offers high resolution pulse measurement

Better known for its mobile comms test solutions, Anritsu is launching new products from the general purpose test and measurement side of the company.
General manager, EMEA, Michael Spatny claims the process will be 'evolutionary, rather than one big launch', but says new products like the MS4640B Vector Network Analyser are a big step in this evolution.
"We have a great opportunity, because we have great products; we just need to build recognition," he commented.
The new device, which joins the VectorStar family, has two features that will appeal to designers involved in testing and characterising components and subsystems for radar and high speed serial applications.
PulseView provides pulse profile, point in pulse and pulse to pulse measurements of S-parameters, while DifferentialView gives true mode stimulus S-parameter measurements.
PulseView enables design engineers in the aerospace and defence sectors to test and characterise designs accurately under pulse conditions.
Along with 2.5ns resolution and 100dB dynamic range, the device enables users to see performance perturbations that could previously have been missed by other systems, including on the rising/trailing edges and within a pulse.
