14bit a/d converters enable multi-channel data acquisition
Two 14bit a/d converters, said to provide the lowest power in the smallest package size, have been unveiled by Analog Devices.

The 16channel 65-MSPS AD9249 and 8channel 125-MSPS AD9681 enable high performance, multi-channel data acquisition at low power.
They are targeted for use in industrial ultrasound and instrumentation, healthcare imaging, military countermeasure and communications receiver applications.
The AD9249 integrates 16 a/d converter channels into a single package and dissipates 58mW of power per channel at 65MS/s, reducing thermal concerns in high channel count designs. The AD9681 dissipates 110mW per channel at 125MS/s.
Both converters are available in a 10 x 10mm package, achieve a spurious free dynamic range greater than 90dBc and signal to noise ratio of 74dBFS or better.
