AC/DC power supplies offer 90% efficiency
Housed in an industry standard 2 x 4in package with a low profile, 1U compatible 1.3in height, the low power MVAD series from Murata is suitable for use in a range of applications, including medical and healthcare appliances, data storage and networking, and industrial factory automation systems.
"These 40 and 65W open frame power supplies expand Murata's open frame product line, offering output power levels ranging from 40 up to 400W," said David German, the company's director of product marketing.
Said to be up to 90% efficient, the MVAD040 and MVAD065 do not require additional heat sinking or forced air cooling to operate at full output power. No load power consumption is rated at less than 0.3W, which meets ErP and Energy Star requirements.
Accepting the universal input voltage range from 90 to 264VAC, each model is available with a +12, +24, or +48VDC output. Operating temperature start up is as low as – 20°C. The MVAD065 features remote sense, which compensates for lead losses up to 0.4VDC at the load point.
