Agilent launches new handheld digital multimeters at electronica

Agilent Technologies has unveiled the U1270 series of handheld digital multimeters (DMMs) at this year's electronica.

Designed to allow engineers and technicians to make faster, more accurate measurements, the multimeters are said to include a low impedance mode to eliminate stray voltages, and low pass filtering to remove noise that distorts voltage and current readings. In addition, the Smart Ohm function is said to minimise false readings due to leakage current. According to Agilent, the DMMs are the first to feature a flashing backlight as a visual alert to enhance continuity checks in dark, noisy environments. "Even in tough industrial settings, our goal is to offer dependable tools that provide a wealth of essential capabilities, while retaining ease of use," said Ee Huei Sin, Agilent vice president and general manager, Basic Instruments Division.
