The AVO200 series of DC/DC converters from Artesyn Embedded Technologies is aimed at telecom and networking applications, where it can offer efficiencies of up to 94.5%.
The first two models in the series of 200W fully regulated devices come in the 1/8th brick format and are said by the supplier to address 12V and 5V needs of communications installations, where they are suited to cost sensitive, small space, high current and low voltage applications.
The converters accept an input ranging from 36 to 75V DC. The 12V model delivers an output of up to 16.7A, while the 5V model provides up to 40A. Both are specified to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 85°C and are available in open frame or baseplate variants.
Artesyn says the converters feature overcurrent, over temperature and overvoltage protection, along with an enable pin on the primary side of the converter and remote sense features and output voltage adjust function on the secondary side.
