DC/DC converters provide 3kVDC isolation
Murata has announced the MEF1 series of 1W regulated dc/dc converters.
Suitable for use in industrial, automation and instrumentation applications, the single output converters, rated to better than 1% of nominal output voltage, are packaged in a fully encapsulated single-in-line through hole format occupying less than 1.17cm2.
The MEF1 converters are available with either 1 or 3kVDC input to output isolation, the latter model having an enhanced immunity to voltage transients. Output voltage options are 3.3 or 5.0VDC, with input voltages covering the popular nominal inputs from 3.3 to 24VDC.
Compared to previously available models, the MEF1 is said to offer a 13% improvement in energy efficiency. Both the 3.3VDC input and 3.3VDC output options can operate over the full industrial temperature range of -40 to 85°C without derating.
