This latest generation device now includes additional flip flops, look up tables, I2C and improved counter/timer blocks.
The addition of I2C enables designers to read and change device configuration, such as analogue comparator thresholds, on-the-fly. The I2C block can also act as a digital IO expander. The counter/delay blocks feature one shot and frequency detect modes and can drive an external crystal oscillator.
These functionalities, along with the configurable digital and analogue blocks seen in previous generations of GPAK, are housed in a 2 x 3mm 20 pin STQFN with 18-GPIO.
Engineers can implement new designs and respond to changing design requirements by using the GPAK development hardware and GUI interface of GPAK Designer. With GreenPAK, designers can perform on-board emulation, within their design, using I2C.
Target applications include GPIO expander, power sequencing, voltage monitoring, LED control, glue logic, timing adjustments and watchdog timer.
