Ethernet XMC module

High bandwidth connectivity solutions specialist, AdvancedIO Systems, has announced the V1121, a conduction cooled 10Gigabit Ethernet XMC module with dual front panel optical interfaces.
The V1121 has been designed to combine open standards based connectivity with real time high bandwidth applications operating in harsh physical environments - particularly where long cable runs or EMI concerns preclude the use of copper based interconnects.
According to AdvancedIO, the V1121's programmability, supported by its expressXG fpga framework, enables the integration of application and pre processing functionality directly into the 10GbE fat pipe. While found in many types of high performance real time systems, these bottlenecks are particularly prevalent in demanding C4ISR applications including situational awareness, signals intelligence, and network security.
The V1121 is the newest member of AdvancedIO's V1100 range. Built with a Xilinx Virtex-5 fpga, it shares the same architecture as other AdvancedIO 10GbE products. It also has two SFP+ optical 10GbE interfaces, independent large banks of memory for buffering packets and additional interfaces to ease synchronisation and time stamping. The module interfaces to the host fabric via PCI Express.
The V1121 will be available Q3 2009.
