The PSoC 4 S-Series integrates an ARM Cortex-M0+, 16 to 64KBytes flash memory, up to 36 general purpose I/Os and Cypress’s CapSense capacitive-sensing technology. The series is claimed to consume half the power of the previous generation and is said to have the world’s most reliable and differentiated user interfaces, as well as contactless, capacitive-sensing solutions such as liquid level sensing.
The series includes options that are cost-competitive with 8- and 16-bit products, while providing engineers with nine programmable analogue blocks and seven programmable digital blocks to create new, differentiating features. The PSoC 4 S-Series is complemented by Cypress’s PSoC Creator Integrated Design Environment (IDE), which is said to simplify system design and accelerate time-to-market by enabling concurrent hardware and firmware design.
Parts with a 10-bit single-slope ADC will be available in 25-ball WLCSP, 24-pin QFN, 32-pin QFN and 48-pin TQFP packages, while parts with a 10-bit single-slope ADC and a 12-bit SAR ADC will be available in 36-ball WLCSP, 32-pin QFN, 40-pin QFN, 48-pin TQFP packages.
