Devices in the ADQ800 series have input voltages ranging from 40 to 60V and are designed primarily for use with standard 48V supplies in computing and server applications, as well as with regulated 48V supplies in telecom equipment.
Optimised for use in forced air or conduction cooled systems, the parts are available with an aluminium baseplate for enhanced thermal performance. The conversion technology employs 175kHz fixed frequency switching to help minimize external EMI filtering requirements.
The converters are protected against output overvoltage, output overcurrent and overtemperature conditions, with pre-bias start up capability.
Two converters can be connected in parallel, automatically using the droop method of current sharing. An enable function facilitates sequenced startup control.
The ADQ800 converter is suitable for use in systems with demanding inter-board spacing requirements and baseplate models have an installed height of 13.6 mm.
A typical efficiency of 96% at full load is claimed, along with the ability to operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to 85°C.
