IGBTs target electric and hybrid vehicle applications
International Rectifier has announced a new range of automotive qualified 600V IGBTs, optimised for variable speed motor control and power supply applications used in electric and hybrid vehicles.
The devices are designed to cover a broad current range and offer a short circuit rating of =5µs. They feature low Vce(on) and positive Vce(on) temperature coefficient for various motor drive systems, including electric air conditioning and main traction inverters requiring high power density.
Additional features include square reverse bias safe operating area, integrated soft recovery diode and a junction temperature of 175°C (max.). The modules are subject to dynamic and static part average testing and automated wafer level visual inspection as part of IR's automotive quality initiative targeting zero defects.
