LDO operates down to 1.4V
Exar has expanded its family of low voltage, low dropout (LDO) regulators to include the new XR71211.
The LDO is said to provide 1.5A from voltages as low as 1.4V and a guaranteed dropout voltage of 250mV at maximum junction temperature.
The XR71211 is targeted at 1.5 to 1.2V and 1.8 to 1.5V conversions. It is suitable for a range of markets, including communications, enterprise solutions, industrial systems and space constrained customer devices.
The LDO does not require an external bias voltage or an internal charge pump. It uses a single supply to reduce board layout complexity as it avoids the need to route a secondary bias rail to the LDO.
The input voltage range is 1.4 to 2.625V and the device provides output voltages down to 0.6V. Precision enable and power good functions ensure easy sequencing and control.
