Single supply LDO operates down to 1.4V
Exar has expanded its range of low voltage, low dropout (LDO) regulators with the new XR71211.
The new LDO provides 1.5A from voltages down to 1.4V and a guaranteed dropout voltage of 250mV at maximum junction temperature.
The XR71211 is targeted at 1.5 to 1.2V and 1.8 to 1.5V conversions. The new LDO is targeted at a wide range of markets, including communications, enterprise solutions, industrial systems and space constrained consumer devices.
The regulator operates without an external bias voltage or an internal charge pump. It uses a single supply which reduces board layout complexity by avoiding the need to route a secondary bias rail to the LDO.
Operating input voltage range is 1.4 to 2.625V and the device provides output voltages down to 0.6V with an accuracy of 0.5% using ceramic capacitors.
