Low cost evaluation kit launched for Freescale’s i.MX6Q
Direct Insight has unveiled a new evaluation kit for Freescale's i.MX6Q Quad Core ARM Cortex-A9 processor.

The TRITON-TXEK is based on a production ready System on Module and includes Linux support, with Windows Compact 7 and Android BSPs to follow shortly.
It includes 1024MB ddr3 64bit ram and a powerful quad core version of Freescale's i.MX6 processor, implemented on a 68 x 31mm production ready module mounted on the TXEK breakout board.
According to Direct In sight, this means that a manufacturing ready solution can easily be created by replacing the development kit baseboard with a suitable production implementation, which can be project specific, or a standard production baseboard.
The TRITON-TXEK provides comprehensive connectivity, including Ethernet, SD Card, two USB ports, Audio, RS-232 and connection to an optional range of capacitive touchscreens, which plug directly into the board. It is powered by a single 5V supply.
