Six set up buttons on the front panel operate like the presets on a car radio. The user sets up the meter for a common measurement and then presses ‘shift’ followed by a set up button (S1 to S6) to save the setup. On each subsequent occasion that the measurement is required, the user presses the appropriate set up key for access to repetitive measurements The 8808A also has a limit compare mode with built-in display annunciators that show whether a test is within or out of limits. Two low impedance/low current ranges allow users to measure sensitive leakage current. Using patented split terminal jacks for the 2 x 4ohms function allows users to perform precise 4 wire low resistance measurements with only two leads instead of four. Optional test lead accessories are available to enable a 4 wire connection to be established even in tight spaces or on surface-mount devices.
