Photocoupler maintains reliable current transfer ratio

Toshiba has added the TLP383 to its range of photocouplers and claims the parts will give the same current transfer ratio across input currents ranging from 0.2 to 8mA and temperatures ranging of 25 to 100°C.

Suited for use in programmable logic controllers, AC adapter and I/O interface boards, the TLP383 features a faster switching speed than standard phototransistor couplers. It also has a turn-off time of 30µs.

Housed in an SO6L package the TLP383 has a height of 2.3mm and a footprint of 10 x 4mm. It offers an isolation voltage of 5000V rms with creepage and clearance distances of 8mm. It is suited for applications where there are strict height limits such as in the development of ultra low profile products such as the motherboards of inverter interfaces, high density surface mounting applications such as programmable controllers and general-purpose power supplies.

The TLP383 operates over a temperature range of -55 to 125°C and is approved to UL, cUL, VDE and CQC safety standards.
