Portable waveform monitors offers enhanced measurement capabilities
Tektronix has expanded its family of waveform monitors to include the WFM2300 series of portable devices.
Designed for install and maintenance applications, the new units offer an Eye/Jitter measurement capability, as well as cable simulator/margin tests, optical interfaces with SFP module, Dolby E monitoring and a loudness meter.
The monitors, which measure, 8.5 x 8.2 x 1.4in, are optimised for low power consumption, and include a large led back panelled lcd screen and replaceable battery.
The Eye/Jitter measurement feature helps identify issues in the physical layer. The cable simulation and margin test capabilities assist in determining the coax cable margin of a system to ensure it does not reach the 'digital cliff' where the transmission error rate significantly increases.
