According to the company, the ISOW7841 integrates both isolated data and power at up to 100Mbit/s, enabling a smaller bill of materials and reduced board space, as well as helping with easier and faster system certification.
With a working voltage of 1kV rms, the ISOW7841 supports an input voltage range of 3V to 5.5V, while delivering 0.65W of output power.
The isolator is said to reduce device operating temperature by up to 40°C, enabling higher power delivery, higher channel count and longer system lifetime than other integrated solutions. It is also meant to improve system signal integrity with 10dB lower radiated emissions and by providing electromagnetic compatibility to meet International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61000-4-x standards for electrostatic discharge and electrical fast transient events.
With a three forward/one backward channel configuration, the isolator is the first device in the ISOW78xx family, with multiple devices expected later in 2017.
