The AMC1301 delivers an accurate solution for shunt-based current sensing in high-voltage equipment, such as industrial motor drives, solar inverters, battery management systems and uninterruptible power supplies.
The AMC1301 has a working breakdown voltage of 1000V rms for a minimum insulation barrier lifetime of 64 years, which exceeds VDE0884-10 requirements. TI claims the AMC1301 consumes 55% less high-side supply current and 45% less low-side supply current than competitive devices. This simplifies power supply design and reduces thermal drift issues, enabling more efficient system design and improved performance.
The amplifier has an offset error maximum of 200µV, an offset drift of 3µV/°C over temperatures ranging from -40 to 125°C, and a linearity of 0.03%.
Specific tools are offered to help designers with this product, including the TINA-TI SPICE model and TINA-TI reference design, the AMC1301EVM evaluation module and the TI Designs reference design.
The AMC1301 is available in a 5.85 x 7.5mm small outline integrated circuit package.
