SENtral-A2 speeds development of sensor fusion algorithms

PNI Sensor has introduced the latest in its sensor fusion product range: SENtral-A2, an ultra-low power coprocessor that is claimed to offer the most expansive algorithm feature set and development framework of any product of its kind.

The coprocessor is said to give wearables and smartphone designers a faster way to give consumers more personalised, contextual experiences with their devices.

SENtral-A2 Features an Algorithm Context Framework that enables customer-specific feature extraction for activity, context and gesture, speeding design-to-delivery of new applications. It also supports Google CTS (Compatibility Test Suite); guaranteeing Google Android apps will run on a mobile device.

Available in a 1.7 x 1.7mm footprint, SENtral-A2 is pin-compatible with earlier versions of SENtral and is said to routinely run at more than 140,000 FLOPS, drawing an average current of 200µA from a 1.8V supply.
