According to the company, automated assembly of PCBs means almost all components can be loaded using pick and place equipment, prior to being heated in a soldering oven. This eliminates the need for separate wave soldering and consequently saves costs.
Harting says the introduction of the M12 SMT connector, available in A, D and X formats and in male and female versions, will bring power and Ethernet connectivity at up to 10Gbit/s to the PCB via miniaturised switches.
