Ericsson has launched a two phase 90A digital point of load (POL) DC/DC power module that offers compensation free performance and the ability to connect modules in parallel to provide up to 360A.
Operating from a 7.5V to 14V input, the BMR465 complies with the Dynamic Bus Voltage implemented in software defined power architecture (SDPA) schemes, reducing power dissipation and saving energy. The output voltage is set to 1.2V, but can be adjusted from 0.6V to 1.8V using pin strap resistor or PMBus commands. As part of SDPA, Adaptive Voltage Scaling can also be performed via the PMBus, adjusting the output voltage to that required by the host processor.
The BMR465 is available in two mechanical configurations, with package dimensions of 51 x 9.5 x 19mm and 51 x 19 x 10mm. Both configurations share the same functional inputs and outputs. A through hole mount version is shipping, with a surface mount version planned for the near future.
Features of the BMR465 include monotonic and soft start power-up, input undervoltage shutdown, over temperature protection, output short circuit and overvoltage protection, and Power Good and differential sense pins.
