Communication Device Provides Robust Communication over AC and DC Powerlines
The Cypress CY8CPLC10 is an I2C-based powerline communication (PLC) device with an integrated powerline modem PHY and network protocol stack on a single chip. The modem and network protocol ensure robust and reliable communication across existing powerline infrastucture.
The CY8CPLC20 adds Cypress's revolutionary PSoC technology that enables system designers to integrate additional functions, like energy measurement, user interface and LCD drive, on the same chip.
Both devices feature:
• 2400 bps frequency shift keying (FSK) modem
• Bi-directional communication
• Configurable acknowledgements, transmit and receive gains, retry counts, and noise threshold
• 8-bit CRC error detection
• I2C interface
