METCASE Offers Custom Height 19” Rack Cases

The standard COMBIMET 19" enclosures are offered in the most popular 1U, 2U and 3U sizes, however, quite often equipment designers need additional U space for cooling or interconnection, or even to combine several systems into a larger unit for example two 3U modules into a 6U unit. COMBIMET enclosures conform to DIN 41494 and IEC 297-1 standards for 19" equipment and are manufactured in robust yet lightweight aluminium. The cases feature two ergonomic front panel handles which are designed for comfortable carrying during installation and removal from the rack. Each COMBIMET consists of an anodised 19" front panel with the front panel handles, two side panels, the top and base, and a recessed removable rear panel. The base panels include a series of holes for fitting PCB mounting pillars or the internal mounting plate kit (accessory). For larger 4U, 5U and 6U models, the panels are simply adjusted in size and the handles cut to the appropriate length, as a result there is no additional price penalty for these custom sizes. The enclosures are available with or without ventilation slots in the top and base panels to assist in-rack thermal management. The standard 1U, 2U and 3U models are available in two depths: 265 mm and 365 mm. Special depths can be manufactured on demand. The enclosures are powder painted in light grey, RAL 7035 or black, RAL 9005. All the fabricated parts are fitted with M4 earth studs for electrical continuity.
