15V 800mA output dc/dc regulators offer 93% peak efficiency

Analog Devices' new dc/dc regulators are said to offer 93% peak conversion efficiency in battery powered applications using multiple alkaline/NiMH, lithium cells or other standard power sources.
The ADP2370/71 15V 800mA output regulators offers an input voltage supply range of 3.2 to 15V and only require three external components in order to reduce overall footprint, thereby enabling designers to support a higher load in a smaller area.
By using a proprietary current mode constant frequency pwm control scheme, the ADP2370/71 devices are optimised to offer strong stability and transient response to minimise the output voltage ripple. The switching frequency of the regulators can be synchronised to an external clock to eliminate beat frequencies between regulators
In addition, the devices can be configured to automatically switch to a low quiescent power save mode in low light conditions where they attain Iq <14 µA. A quick output discharge automatically discharges the output when the device is disabled.
The ADP2370/71 regulators operate over the -40 to 125°C junction temperature range and are available in compact 3 × 3mm QFN-8 lead packages.
