A new strategic agreement has been announced in a bid to connect and support a host of emerging enterprise and consumer devices.

Hong Kong's leading mobile services provider, CSL, has joined forces with M2M specialist, Jasper Wireless. Jasper is providing CSL with its software as a service (SaaS) platform to help eliminate the complexity associated with profitably connecting and managing new devices. CSL says this will allow the company to offer advanced automation and control features across existing M2M verticals and enter into the lucrative connected device market through its premium and corporate brand, 1010. Paul Hodges, executive vice president, Corporate, Wholesale and International at CSL, said: "Jasper's comprehensive knowledge of global device manufacturers – their needs, their language and their challenges – offers our customers the necessary tools to build and grow a connected device business. The Jasper Wireless platform offers us the necessary automation to enable plug and play simplicity, offering seamless connectivity straight out of the box to ensure customers receive a superior user experience, offered by our 1010 brand." According to Jasper, the platform offers automation of operational processes including custom device provisioning, instant activation, real time diagnostic tools and detailed billing and usage reports. Cindy Patterson, executive vice president, worldwide sales at Jasper Wireless, added: "As the uptake of consumer electronics and M2M devices continues to rise, it is imperative that operators work to discover the right business model to suit each individual demographic."
