Industrial mcus are 'highest performing'
A new family of 32bit microcontrollers is available from Texas Instruments, which it describes as the highest performing in the industry.
With dual core C28x processing capabilities and dual real time control accelerators, the F2837xD mcus provide 800MIPS of floating point performance, eliminating the need for multiple embedded processors.
TI says designers can also reduce complexity by consolidating multiple embedded processors into a single mcu for applications requiring real time signal analysis, such as high end servo drives, solar central inverters and industrial uninterruptable power supplies.
By providing four independent 16bit a/d converters, the F2837xD mcus are able to manage multiple analogue signals, enabling overall system throughput for solutions such as the monitoring of three phase motors.
The dual core mcus are also optimised to lower input noise and protect power stage from current faults by using windowed comparators.
