Microchip adds analogue peripherals to 8bit PIC mcus
A host of new analogue peripherals have been added to Microchip's PIC16F178X series of 8bit mcus, including a 12bit a/d converter, op amps and high speed comparators.
Available in 28 and 40pin packages, the devices also feature a programmable switch mode controller, which is an advanced 16bit pwm with 64MHz operation.
Microchip says the new peripherals enable higher efficiency and performance, combined with cost and space reductions.
The new mcus also feature eXtreme Low Power technology for active and sleep currents of just 32µA/MHz and 50nA, respectively, contributing to extended battery life and reduced standby current consumption.
Target uses include led and other lighting applications, battery management, digital power supplies, motor control and other general purpose applications.
