Simulation product delivers three times faster runtime

Chip design software specialist, Magma Design Automation, has announced a new version of its FineSim Pro full chip circuit level simulation product that delivers three times faster runtime than previous versions.
According to Magma, it is the first fast SPICE circuit simulator that supports multi cpu simulations and the only simulator that performs truly multi cpu SPICE analysis. This, says the company, allows for the most accurate results with the best possible throughput.
FineSim Pro verifies a range of designs from large memories to large complex analogue ICs, which previously couldn't be practically verified in transient circuit simulators. It also has a separate option for IR drop and electromigration analysis.
Anirudh Devgan, general manager of Magna's Design Implementation Business Unit, said: "The amount of simulations required to adequately verify today's complex, advanced process node designs has placed a premium on overall simulation runtime performance. Leveraging an improved architecture, better numerical solvers and a single cpu optimised simulation algorithm, Fine Sim Pro delivers three times better performance than previous versions."
