SiTime enters IoT market with smallest, lowest power TCZO
Looking to expand into the rapidly growing Internet of Things (IoT) and wearables markets, SiTime has launched what it says is smallest, lowest power 32kHz TCZO.
The SiT1552 comes in a 1.5 x 0.8mm chip scale package and consumes just 1µA, 50% less than competing solutions.
In addition, SiTime says it offers 10x faster start up, 30x higher shock resistance and 15x higher reliability.
Piyush Sevalia, executive vice president of marketing at SiTime, commented: "By using its game changing TempFlat MEMSTM and analogue technology, SiTime has once again shattered the limitations of quartz.
"Our MEMS enable new system architectures that offer higher performance, small size and longer battery life."
Additional features of the SiT1552 include a reference for the real time clock function, sleep clock for connectivity (Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy and WiFi), and a heartbeat clock for the battery supervisory function.
Frequency stability is rated at ±5PPM.
