Space qualified power mosfets simplify procurement?
1 min read
In a bid to meet the demand for satellite based communications, television, weather forecasting and geographical data, STMicroelectronics has introduced a new series of Rad-Hard, space qualified power mosfets.
The series is qualified for use in electronic subsystems on board satellites and launchers. It offers current ratings from 6 to 80A and comprises five N channel and P channel devices. The devices have been developed with support from the European Space Agency and the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales. They are fully qualified to European Space Components Coordination standards and have a low gate charge.
The STRH100N10, STRH8N10 and STRH40P10 offer voltage ratings of 100V, while the STRH100N6 and STRH40N6 have a voltage rating of 60V. The mosfets are designed for use in dc power modules such as motor controllers and linear regulators, and incorporate ST's STripFET technology.
The STRHxxxN10, STRHxxxN6 and STRH40P10 devices are available now to EM or ESCC flight quality level, in TO254-AA and TO-39 through hole packages. An SMD.5 surface mount configuration is also offered.
