Spansion claims first with 4Gb NOR flash memory
Spansion has announced what it claims to be the industry's first single die 4Gb NOR flash memory product produced at the 65nm node.
Based on the company's proprietary MirrorBit charge trapping technology, the Spansion GL-S is said to deliver the fastest read performance in the industry and enable a better user experience with interactive graphics, animation and video in games and automotive applications.
"With this 4Gb product, Spansion extends its high density, NOR flash memory leadership in the embedded market to enable its customers to deliver innovative electronics with the best the user experience," stated the company's vice president of marketing, Avo Kanadjian.
The GL-S family is currently offered at 128Mb through 2Gb densities. Sampling of the latest member is due to begin this month.
