SPICE simulator speeds analogue and rf designs

Tanner EDA has launched Tanner Analog FastSPICE (T-AFS) as an add on to its HiPer Silicon design suite.
T-AFS is based on Berkeley Design Automation;s Analog FastSPICE platform, said to be the fastest nanometre circuit verification platform for analogue, rf and mixed signal designs, as well as for custom digital circuits. T-AFS provides a foundry certified nanometre accurate SPICE simulator said to be up to 10 times faster than competitive products running on a single core. A further performance boost of up to four times is available with multithreading. This, says Tanner, will enable users to verify the most challenging analogue/rf circuits. The T-AFS platform also includes silicon accurate device noise analysis and delivers near linear performance scaling with the number of cores.
"Tanner EDA is dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible price for performance and productivity," said Greg Lebsack, Tanner's president. "Offering Analog FastSPICE as a complement to our T-SPICE simulator enables our customers to tackle complex analogue/rf circuit verification and delivers on our continued commitment to offer the widest possible choice of leading edge technology."
