System aims to boost chip quality

Start up firm Qualtera has developed an automated decision support system that aims to speed semiconductor yield, product and test engineering.

By using different ways of storing, accessing and visualising vast amounts of data and high quality automated analysis, Silicondash is said to allow users to generate better product yields and improved quality more quickly than competing systems and at lower cost. According to Qualtera, the system has been used in high volume beta trials with major European semiconductor IDMs for the past six months, enabling them to rapidly improve test efficiency. "Silicondash is changing the way people look at data analysis," said Paul Simon, vp of marketing and operations. "The platform not only increases productivity and efficiency, it also removes the complexity of data analysis tasks and overcomes the hurdles of ever increasing amounts of data."
