TSB launches £5million power electronics competition
Up to £5.4million is being made available for R&D and knowledge exchange projects that will help stimulate innovation and develop UK supply chains between the power electronics and energy sectors.
£4.4m will be available from the Technology Strategy Board for projects and feasibility studies that help UK businesses interested in building up capability and new supply chains in power electronics.
A further £1m will also be made available from the Technology Strategy Board, Welsh Government and the EPSRC for up to 12 projects through thematic Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) that look to embed innovation and transfer knowledge from academia to industry through projects between young graduates, universities and business.
The funding will support a range of activity, including pre industrial technical feasibility studies focussing on early stage concepts and CR&D projects where businesses can work together.
The competitions open on 4 February 2013.
