Ubiquisys and picoChip extend femtocell partnership
Femtocell developer Ubiquisys will use the picoChip PC302 processor in its ZoneGate femtocell. Under the terms of the deal, which extends a five year partnership, picoChip will continue to be one of Ubiquisys’ strategic suppliers.
“We have worked closely with picoChip on both requirements and timelines,” said Will Franks, pictured, Ubiquisys’ founder and CTO. “picoChip’s roadmap is aligned with our rapid development of next generation ZoneGate femtocells.”
Future ZoneGate devices will use the picoChip PC302, a highly integrated baseband processor designed to support advanced features such as cognitive radio techniques, grid technology and application services.
“Ubiquisys and picoChip are in the vanguard of the femtocell market; we are delighted to continue as a strategic supplier for the next generation of Ubiquisys femtocells,” said picoChip cofounder Pete Claydon.
