UK firm to open new R&D centre in Cambridge

Engineered solutions specialist Elektron has unveiled plans to open a new research and development centre at the University of Cambridge.

The new facility will house all R&D functions and new product development activity for all brands within the Elektron group. This includes Arcolectric, Bulgin, Sifam, Agar Scientific, Digitron and Tinsley Ophthalmic. "The move to Cambridge marks an important stage in the evolution of Elektron and is an exciting time for everyone involved," said Owen Kivlin, group head of technology at Elektron. "There are diverse, established brands within our group, all of which have earned a reputation as innovative market leaders in their respective industries. "Basing our core R&D function and new product development activity under one roof ensures Elektron will continue to deliver this level of innovation and will bring about new synergies and benefits for the brands within the group as well as our customers."
