imec and Micron work on sub 10nm cmos technologies
imec and Micron are increasing their joint development efforts. Micron, the US based memory specialist, says it will continue to work collaboratively within imec's core cmos programme to develop new materials, concepts and process steps for the sub 10nm node.
"We are elated to further extend and broaden our collaboration with Micron," said Luc Van den hove, imec president and ceo. "Our research environment harnesses the collective expertise and knowledge of the entire value chain, bringing together foundries, integrated device manufacturers, fabless and fablite companies, packaging and assembly companies, and equipment and material suppliers to drive innovation and the development of new, competitive products."
Scott DeBoer, vp of R&D for Micron, added: "We look forward to continuing our partnership with imec, exploring new device concepts and new materials that have the potential to enable advanced memory solutions for Micron in the future."
