LGA socket is suitable for harsh environments
Ironwood Electronics has introduced the CBT-LGA-5002, an LGA socket for 2.54mm pitch devices.
The contactor is a stamped spring pin with 19g actuation force per pin and a cycle life of 500,000 insertions. The self inductance of the contactor is 0.93nH, while insertion loss is rated at <1dB at 21.9GHz.
The current capacity of each contactor is 4A. Socket temperature range is from -55 to 180C.
The CBT-LGA-5002 has been designed to conform to the JEDEC STD standard. It features a unique contact design with outside spring and flat stamped plungers, making it suitable for demanding analogue, digital, rf, Bluetooth and medical device applications.
The socket is mounted using supplied hardware on the target pcb with no soldering, and is said to use the smallest footprint in the industry.
The clamshell socket lid incorporates a quick installation method using latch, enabling ic's to be changed out quickly.
