Low power oscillators for battery applications
1 min read
Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has announced the release of two new ranges of low power oscillators in miniature surface mount packages.
According to Euroquartz, the new XOK53 and XOK91 series offer low supply current operation of less than 1.7mA with 1.8V power supply and less than 2µA in disabled mode. XOK53 series oscillators are housed in 5 x 3.2mm microminiature packages and offer frequency range from 16 to 50MHz while XOK91 oscillators are industry standard 7 x 5mm devices offering frequency range from 10 to 50MHz. Both ranges are available with 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3V inputs and feature tristate function to conserve power.
Suitable for use in battery operated portable or hand held consumer electronic devices where small size and low power consumption are essential, the XOK53 and XOK91 oscillators offer stable and clean cmos outputs.
Typical specifications include frequency stability of ±25 to ±100ppm over commercial (0 to 70°C) and industrial (-40 to 85°C) operating temperature ranges, ageing of ±5% per year maximum, period jitter of 2.1ps with capacitive decoupling between Vdd and Gnd, 15pF load and voltage sensitivity of ±0.8ppm for 10% Vdd variation.
RoHS compliant, the oscillators are supplied on standard EIA tape and reel and are said to be capable of withstanding reflow soldering conditions of 260°C for 10s maximum.
