Apple iPad 3 launches - fans queue for five days
Apple's iPad 3 goes on sale today, boasting a Retina display and 1.5GHz dual core A5X chip with quad core graphics processing.
Some consumers queued for five days outside the Apple Store in Regent Street to be the first to buy the third generation tablet. The iPad 3 features an A5X gpu that is twice as powerful as the A5 found in the iPad 2 and incorporates four times more power than NVIDIA's Tegra 3 chipset. The 9.4mm thick iPad 3 costs £399 for the 16GB model and £599 for 64GB.
The tablet has a 2048x1536p resolution with 264 pixels per inch and, for US users, provides 4G LTE internet connectivity, enabling a speed increase of up to five times that of current networks.
